a lot of interesting responses from all participants
Why are these people acting like they lost their country when it is not lost but won? Ho Chi Minh made vietnam into an independent state, i really don’t see what wrong with this. And here something interesting, Ho Chi Ming petitioned President Harry Truman for support for vietnam independence, but Truman never responded…WHY? Because France is one of America’s allies.
To Boss: Ho Chi Minh may have won independence/reunification for Vietnam, but at what cost? Does the end really justify the means? Just imagine for a moment having to witness your sister being raped to numbness by pirates while escaping on a dinky boat from Vietnam, then you will realize the necessity for “Quoc Han 30/4.” It’s not hatred, it’s remembrance. Until I may understand your perspective and you mines, Vietnam will never truly unite.
well,
do you ever sit down and realize why do people migrate southward in 1954??? what so scary about the north that made them leaving their lands and ancestors tombs
then again why do people migrate in 1975?… leaving the country risking their lives in the sea..
Along with all, have u research all the events that happen? Dai lo kinh hoang, tet mau than - mo chon tap the…etc. look at both sides perspective..
and its not just a few, its over a million people..
HCM- was a hunger for power man. If he really loves VN.. Then he would not take out many important political parties during the time of anti-colonialism. If he really loves his people and his country, he should not report his teacher to the French who was then executed. If HCM was really liberate VN from the French, first he needs to liberate himself form the thoughts of communist. When he came to power, million of people had to leave their home and migrated south, people that believed him him died a miserable death, due to his practice of land reformation, this mentality will never be fade out. I’m sure “Boss” do not understand how the Vietnamese people feel when we talk about HCM. Vietnam and its government had made HCM into a saint, and many Vietnamese has submit to this ridiculous practice of the communist through psychological mean.
However not all of the Vietnamese in the country submit to this practice. I recommend you read more about Bui Tin and his writing about Ho Chi Minh. Don’t try to use the outsider to judge on our history.
